Balkan Mondays

A monthly Monday-evening workshop on Balkan dance and music,

Presented in collaboration with the

During each workshop you can dance, sing, and/or play music (for dancers)..

Whether you are a dancer, instrumentalist, or singer, and no matter what your level of experience or instrument, you are welcome to join us.

Sergiu Popa will lead the music while a guest dance teacher leads the dances.

Recognized as one of North America's foremost exponents of Bulgarian dance and folklore, Yves has been lecturing and conducting workshops for more than 50 years.

Anit Ghosh is a violinist with a very unique playing style that is strongly influenced by Turkish and Romanian gypsy music. He is also a multi-instrumentalist: he plays the five string violin, the viola, the oud, the mandolin, and several guitars. He plays in, among other ensembles, the Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, Ayrad, and the Udistik Orchestra.
